Brief About The Project:
Sitting amid Abu Shagara’s repetitive and sparse urban development, our proposal introduces a mixed-use node that promotes a multicultural and intergenerational culture. This has been achieved through the layering of different functions that focus on a combination of public spaces and housing typologies that address the future of Sharjah’s housing blocks. This approach seeks to bring back the locals as well as accommodate the existing communities, thus successfully forming an urban oasis and re-establishing the city's centre. The design of this node integrates several layers of functions and amenities into a sustainable community that creates a new identity for the neighborhood
