Brief About The Project:
The few public spaces in Beirut, Lebanon are in poor condition. There is a constant shift in ownership of municipal plots. What is to ultimately remain public? Land generated from road infrastructure. Tayouneh Roundabout, a 2722 m2 “plot” with an underpass. Hybrid 360 was developed. Accesses are 8 meters above street level. The program includes a bicycle playground, space for wall climbing, playgrounds, kiosks, green spaces, aquariums, and a bird’s habitat. Digital billboards are placed on its façade. Structure wise, the project starts with four pillars that branch and decrease in diameter as we go up.
