Brief About The Project:
After the destruction of the Great Mosque of Al-Nuri and its famous Hadbaa Minaret in Old Mosul City by ISIL in June 2017, the attempts to reconstruct has begun. My project is not only a place to pray, but the core of light in this darkness, it intends to restore the mosque, design a creative monument for Al-Hadbaa minaret in an open plaza, restore the market west to the mosque, build a new museum to tell the story of the place to the visitors and to restore what's left of the old houses east to the mosque, all within respect to the city's delicate urban fabric and important history.
